Christmas fern
The Christmas fern is an "everygreen" and keeps its color (under the snow, of course) all winter. The fronds have a more leathery appearance and could easily switch names with the Male Linear fern!

Lady fern
The Lady fern frond pictured below also spoke to me. Something makes her feel like dancing, and looking at her makes me feel like dancing, too!
Cinnamon Fern
Cinnamon Fern fiddle heads are covered with a fine fuzz or hairy looking substance that reminds me of little old men. As they mature and open, the fuzz disappears and the "cinnamon" appears. This, too, disappears later in the season.

Male Linear Fern
The Male Linear fern's name is misleading. It is the most delicate of the 18 variety of fern that I have. This fern is very late emerging causing me to think most springs that it "didn't make it" through our winter. This print has a plain background.
